Thoughts or Emotions, what comes first? A Human is a feeling being lost in its own thoughts, disconnected from its own Self. When a child experiences an overwhelming situation growing up which is too huge for their little brains to process, they disconnect from their own self, their emotions, to help them survive the circumstance. Many of us growing up were discouraged to feel our emotions as our own Parents were never taught or encouraged to feel either. The result is a generation of adults unable to discern between their own thoughts and emotions. Contrary to popular belief, it is emotions that come first and not thoughts. Neurobiological research has conclusively proved that the input we receive from our sensory system passes through the emotional centers of the brain i.e the Hippocampus and the Amygdala before reaching the Prefrontal Cortex, the place where thoughts originate. Thus it is biologically impossible to think before we feel. Our Memories are organized in our brains basis the emotions and not thoughts. an average human thinks about 60,000 thoughts in a day but feels only 4 basic emotions, SAD, MAD, BAD, and GLAD.
This disconnection from Self and emotions leads to Anxiety, Depression, and all sorts of mental and emotional issues.
